Acephate Surrender Fire Ant Killer Uses / Applications:

My personal opinion is that I would not use it in a horse pasture. The "dust" could get into a horses hoof or leg and cause issues. It could be used, and there is no label or direction use against it, but for safety reasons, I would prefer a bait.

Try using Advion or Maxforce Fire Ant Bait applied locally to the fire ant mounds. Up to 2 tablespoons per mound should be used.

No, it does not need to be watered in. Simply sprinkle 2 tablespoons of Acephate powder over and around the fire ant mound. Be sure to stay up wind and don't allow the wind to blow any on you. Keep the container away from your face and let the wind blow it away from you. Reapply as needed.

Acephate is the active ingredient. There is no published data that I can find on the lifespan of it in the environment. I would expect in most cases, that the Acephate would be below "toxic" level to kill ants in 3-4 weeks outdoors. Here is a link to the label - https://www.epestcontrol.com/images/P...
