I would like to know which product(s) you would recommend to get rid of thousand leggers (those bugs with lots of long legs that can run really, really fast). Also, something that will get rid of ants, silverfish, spiders and stink bugs. I would also like to know what applicators I will need to buy in order to apply the product. And how and where to apply.

The ants I find in the kitchen. Sliverfish in the attic and sometimes the bedroom. Spiders in the basement, kitchen, bedrooms and bathroom. And thousand leggers usually the kitchen, bathroom and basement. I also have spiders that make webs outside which run across my sidewalk every night going from the trees to the fence and I would like to know if I can spray anything in my trees to kill and keep away these spiders from blocking my walkway with huge webs. And I need to know if it is safe for my dogs.

I currently have an exterminator who comes to my house every 4 months. Which I don't think is often enough. I will see bugs even though he has been to my house to treat the house. But even though I would see a spider or silverfish once in a while I would not see any thousand leggers. I recently noticed a baby thousand legger outside. I told the exterminator when he was here and now I found one today in my kitchen. I don't think he is doing his job correctly and I think they are changing the formula and it isn't as potent.

Years ago I had a different company come to my house ( a different house) and they came to spray every month. I never saw not even one bug! Then they said they didnt have to come every month and would be coming every other month. That is when I started seeing bugs again. And now the company I use now at my current house comes every 4 months. That won't cut it. I even told them that every 4 months wouldn't be enough. They insisted it was enough. Told me they would spray outside and inside. Said they would spray the side of the house up I forget how many feet. They spray from the truck with a long hose. Well, they only did that the first time. Every other time was with a back pack. They made it sound great. Told me they have better products than they did years ago. When the guy comes he doesnt always spray outside and if it is too hot he won't go in my attic. And now that I am seeing thousand leggers I decided to look for products on the internet. I would like to give your products a try.

Thank you in advance for your time to read and answer my question.

Most pest control companies will perform an outdoor treatment with either a backpack or handheld sprayer. This is the standard way to treat. This is also the way to get the strongest chemical solution.

Depends on what you are trying to kill. For Scorpions and Spiders Onslaught provides great control. It contains Piperonyl Butoxcide which in essence makes the formula stronger.

For general pest control, such as cockroaches, most species of non invasive ants, centipedes, spiders, etc, Demand CS gives longer control, up to 4 months. It also will leave less of a residue and have less of an odor since it mixes at a really low rate.

The most important aspect of pest control is just that - controlling pests. There is no 1 time spray cure-all. Most of the time professional pest control companies… See full answer »

I use to use Orkin. What products do you recommend for killing insect pests inside and outside the home. Orkin's inside product was safe to use around pets and children (obviously you wouldn't spray the dog or child).

There outside products had to dry 2 hours before the outside was used again.

What comparable products to you have that would be used in a bug sprayer. Are any products good for both inside and outside use?

Thanks

The basic products that Orkin uses and most pest control companies use is Demand CS inside and also probably outside. They may also use a granular product outside which is usually Bifenthrin. Each office is different, and the ultimate call as to what is used is up to the Manager.

If you get an old invoice, it should specifically state what was used, how much and at what concentration. This would help a lot.

we have had 2 applications so far 30 days apart. The first time was bifenthrin outdoor and indoors. The 2nd tome was Biden indoors and Malathion outdoors. (2 weeks ago) and it has only gotten worse. I am thinking to either use Demand SC, or Taurus on the exterior now - I'm worried about any of these chemicals mixing only 2 weeks past my last treatment is it safe? Also some one at Orkin said they are having a hard time tackling these clover mites this year - have they developed a resistance to Bifenthrin? Because that is the go-to treatment for these insects but twice it has not helped and they're jist more active and not dying, I vacuum hundreds a day multiple times. See more »

Clover mites are a plant pest and originate outdoors. In order to control them, a TRUE miticide has to be used. Bifen I/T, Mavrik Aquaflow are the 2 products I would use. If Bifen I/T did not work, then Bifen XTS might work better since it contains Xylene. With any of these products, treating outdoor lawn surfaces, plants, shrubs, decking, and even spraying the walls of the house is needed in some cases. Regular repeated applications of these products are also needed - such as every 2-3-4 weeks depending on severity. This needs to occur for several weeks past the point of "not seeing them". You have to make sure they are gone. If you give up or only apply a couple of treatments, these things will come back and you have to start all over again.

On your clothes moth page, you recommend, among other things, the use of Temprid or Demand CS in the case of substantial infestation. However when I look at the Demand CS product page, moths are not listed as a target pest. Could you please clarify? Are there certain cases where either Temprid or Demand are more appropriate? Which is more pet safe/less toxic? See more »

You bring up a valid point. Clothes moths used to be on the Demand label, but obviously are not currently. A similar product that will give the same control is Suspend Polyzone - http://www.epestsupply.com/cgi-bin/sh...

The problem with Clothes moths is that in order to control an infestation, the clothes have to be completely gone through and inspected. The only product that can be directly applied to clothes is CB 80, which is not a residual insecticide. Demand, Suspend, Temprid, or any other residual insecticide cannot be applied to the clothes, so this is where some manufacturers back off their recommendation. These products can be applied to baseboards, cracks, crevices, and other areas where the larvae might hide… See full answer »

After it is dry, there should be no issues. Safety depends on how it is applied. If you follow the label directions, there should be no concerns. This chemical is registered with the EPA.

Demand CS will last around 2 years in the bottle if kept in a constant temperature room such as a pantry, storeroom, etc.

Once mixed with water, it will last around 2 days. The chlorine and chemicals in tap water will basically destroy the chemical solution. So apply and use whatever you mix within 2 days.

Once applied, Demand CS has a residual indoors of around 120 days… See full answer »

Demand CS has a very long residual - up to 200 days in some cases. It really depends on what pest you are treating for.

My log home was recently sprayed for carpenter ants. I expected the exterior treatment to be something like a misting but it was almost like a powerwash of the chemical. I tried to stop the spraying as I was worried about the chemical's effect on the stain. They assured me it was an "all natural product, made from flowers". My entire home now looks like the attached photo. I was originally told it was the product cleaning my logs but two contractors were unable to remove the drip marks with speciality cleaners. I've researched this product and am wondering - was the dillution off or was it just too much? Thanks Ron. See more »

Demand CS is a microencapsulated insecticide. It is not made from flowers. It belongs to a class of chemistry known as "synthetic pyrethroids". The argument could be made that it is a synthetic form of "pyrethrum" which is made from african and australian chrysanthemums, but the fact remains that it is not naturally derived.

Most pesticide concentrates not only contain active ingredients but also contain solvents, diluents and carriers that are petrochemical based. These materials allow the active ingredient to be mixed and diluted with water. These "inert" ingredients are usually not revealed since they can be considered "trade secrets".

No. Demand CS is not designed to be used on or near vegetables or fruit plants, trees, etc. It is for structural applications and lawns. It is not legal for use on edible crops, gardens, etc. Here is a link to the label - http://www.epestsupply.com/images/Pro...

For garden applications, consider using Cyanara Lawn and Garden. Here is the link - http://www.epestsupply.com/cgi-bin/sh...
