Mosquito Barrier Liquid Garlic Repellent is a very strong liquid garlic made from very potent garlic cloves. The "SUPER" garlic used in Mosquito Barrier is a very powerful variety which is much more potent than the garlic found in grocery stores. Garlic has a natural sulfur which repels insects, including mosquitoes, ticks, and fleas. Spraying garlic to keep insects away is not something new, farmers and master gardeners have been doing it for many generations.

Since mosquitoes are soft-bodied insects the garlic juice can be very toxic to them in increased concentrations. The juice does not harm humans or pets or plants, but to mosquitoes it can be deadly. The odor of it chases them out of the area and they stay away - for as long as they can detect the odor. While the odor of sprayed garlic juice becomes undetectable to humans within minutes, the mosquitoes will still detect it. Mosquitoes have extremely sensitive odor sensing antennae - as high as 10,000 times better than humans. They can detect the garlic extract for much longer periods of time and will stay away from the sprayed area for up to a month and more. Mosquito Barrier is designed to be used in diluted water. Shake container well before mixing. Use 2 ounces of Mosquito Barrier for each gallon of liquid. For 2 gallons of total spray put in 4 ounces of Mosquito Barrier. Apply liberally to grass, plants, shrubs, flowers, ornamentals, trees, vines, and in standing water in the area, including water under porches, and decks. Product normally becomes odorless in less than an hour. Does not impart garlic odor or flavor to food plants.

The fastest way to apply Mosquito Barrier is just to fill the hose-end container with a mixture of 12 ounces of Mosquito Barrier and 20 ounces of water, screw on the garden hose and spray away. Normally it takes about 7 minutes to empty the container with the garden hose on full blast, so you need to be quick, or fill it again until you have covered everything we recommend. Our garlic juice may contain micron-sized particles of garlic dust which can, on occasion, clog the nozzle of your hose-end sprayer. If you experience this, please filter the garlic juice through a terry cloth or other similar cloth to prevent any clogging issues.
